Purpose of the website

This website serves as a personal portfolio website. It presents projects, experience, education, activity data and contact options.

Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a VPS hosted by Contabo. When the website is accessed, the server technically processes access data necessary to deliver the website, detect errors and investigate misuse.

In particular, this may include the time, IP address, host, HTTP method, requested URL, HTTP status, response time and user agent. This data is not used to create personal profiles.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the data you enter is processed in order to respond to your message. An ALTCHA challenge is used to prevent spam.

Analytics with Umami

This website may use a self-hosted Umami instance for basic analytics. Umami is integrated without cookies.

Aggregated technical usage data such as page views, referrers, browser, operating system, device type and approximate origin are collected. IP addresses are not used to create personal profiles. The measurement serves to roughly understand the use of the website and to derive technical or content improvements.

This integration is only active if the website is configured accordingly. It is disabled by default in the local development environment.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not set tracking cookies. Technically necessary local settings such as theme, colour mode and language preference may be stored in your browser to display the site. These settings remain on your device and are not used for advertising or profiling purposes.

External content

The website currently self-hosts fonts, scripts and stylesheets. No Google Fonts or CDN fonts are embedded.

External links, for example to GitHub, LinkedIn or Strava, lead to offers from other providers. The respective privacy notices of these providers apply to their content and data processing.

Legal basis

The technical delivery of the website, server logs, security measures and basic analytics are based on legitimate interests in the operation, security and improvement of the website. Contact requests are processed in order to handle your inquiry.

Storage period

Server logs are stored only as long as necessary for operation, troubleshooting and security. Contact requests are stored as long as necessary for processing and traceable communication.

Your rights

You may request information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and object to certain processing, provided the legal requirements are met. You can contact hello@mljr.eu for this purpose.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in Austria in particular the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
